We have an open-door policy.
You can come meet the parents beforehand or you can come visit pups after they are botn.
However, I do have some guidelines that I like to adhere to in order to keep pups and humans healthy.
- Please set up a time and date with me. I can't do last minute appointments.
- Please let me know how many people are coming, especially kids.
- When you ring the doorbell, you are going to hear a lot of big barking. This may scare kids but, all adults are put away and introduced one at a time when everyone is comfortable.
- Though our dogs are sweet and have never hurt anyone, they will defend themselves if they feel threatened or they are hurt. They are animals. If someone is nipped, I can not be held responsible. If you are not comfortable with that, I can leave the adults kenneled but please know, puppies will be teething and they will bite. They also have sharp claws. We do our best at grooming and taking care of nails but, sometimes they are so squirmy, we don't always do the best job.
- There are cats in the house. If you are allergic, let me know and I can put the cats away but, know that there is still dander in the house and you may still have a reaction.
- When you arrive, there will be a foot wash basin you will need to step into. It contains Parvo killing properties and it is blue. Please do not wear your best shoes. I do not recommend any open-toed shoes! Not only because of the liquid you will be stepping into but also, puppies love tasty toes.
- You will also be asked to use the hand sanitizer before handling any puppies.
- Cameras are on the puppies at all times so you may be in the live feed.
- It stinks in here. We clean all the time but, we have a lot of animals and they smell. So be prepared for the wonder of a pack of Great Dane scents.
- Great Danes lean. So when you are petting our Danes, they will lean. If you have bad legs, let me know and we will make sure you are sitting down before they come in hot for a lean and pet session.
- You can hold the puppies but please understand that Mom is going to be nervous and make sure you are doing right by her baby. Please limit the time you are holding them. You can hold the, let Mom know everything is ok, grab pictures, kisses, and put them down. Repeat if you would like. The older the babies get, the less Mom cares unless the pup starts crying then it is Super Dane Mom to the rescue.
- If you could use the restroom before you get here, that would be amazing. I only have one downstairs restroom and it is mine.
